Great Lakes Lacquer Notes to Self Collection

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Tonight I have Great Lakes Lacquer's new Notes to Self Collection to share with you! The collection is a quartet of thermals that have amazing shimmer. These will debut next weekend at Polish Con and the collection will have a special price of $35 (individual polishes will be $10 each). They will debut in the Great Lakes Lacquer's shop on September 30th at 2 PM EST (prices will be $38 for the collection and $11 each).

It Can't Rain All The Time is a sky blue thermal (cold) that transitions to a pale grey (warm) with lots of pink shimmer and soft linear holo. Formula started off sheer and built up nicely to opacity in 3 light coats. This was probably the most subtle thermal shift of all of the polishes, but still it transitioned nicely. I was surprised that all of these actually held the cold state for me sometimes in my house despite it still being in the 80s here. The shimmer in the collection makes them outstanding in either state.

A reminder that the sun will shine again.  And yes, a homage to a certain movie that I love.

The Grass Is Greener For A Reason is a saturated lime green (cold) that transitions to a yellow gold (warm) with gold to green shimmer. Formula started off sheer but built up nicely to opacity in 3 light coats. Another great thermal effect. I really loved the green state and I felt like the touch of green shimmer give the golden warm state a slight green cast.

Comparing myself to someone else does no good as I have no idea of their struggles.  I must compare myself to me.

A Rose Is A Rose.  Unless It's A Peach is a rose pink (cold) that transitions to a peach with orange/bronze/peach shimmer. Formula started off sheer but built up nicely to opacity in 3 light coats. Great thermal effect that stayed pink a lot for me in my cold house. The shimmer makes the warm state stunning as well and really enhances the peach shade.
Taking things at face value while remembering to not judge a book by its cover.

To Thine Own Self Be True is a warm purple (cold) that transitions to a soft blue (in between) and a rose gold (warm) with flecks of copper and pink shimmer throughout. Formula started off sheer, but built up nicely to opacity in 3 light coats. The thermal effect on this one was very marked and I got some good glimpse of the in between blue shade sometimes. The shimmer in the base is AMAZING and really accounts for the rose gold look of the warm state.
Finding me.  Being me.  Improving me.  Best. Thing. Ever.
